Mabinogi brings a celestial scythe-wielding new class in its December 12 Astrologer update

What do reading the stars and swinging a scythe have in common? They’re the tools of the trade for the upcoming Astrologer class that will be arriving to Mabinogi on Thursday, December 12th. Obviously. And if you couldn’t figure that out, then clearly you weren’t thinking in anime’s esoteric directions.

The upcoming Astrologer update will be broken up in two parts, with the first adding the new Astrologer battle skills that let players wield the power of the stars and this scythe they found. The combination of skills lets players leap forward through a gravity portal, slow or stun enemies, and heal allies. Players will also be able to access a unique Celestial Citadel to bolster their mana reserves, customize battle skills with selected elements, and assemble a deck of five cards that activate benefits when skills of a similar aspect are used.

As for the second half of the update, that is planned to launch in early 2025 and will let players focus more on crafting. In the meantime, the Astrologer’s arrival is being marked with a pair of special events that hand over an item to create a new main character and various login rewards.
