Path of Exile 2 is in early access, so obviously things are going to change; it’s just a question of whether or not those changes will be well-received or kick off a chicken coop-like panic among gamers. So it goes as Grinding Gear Games has put out some statements about plans for upcoming updates in the near future.
In a forum post, the studio detailed some of its larger plans, which include introducing full invincibility frames when dodge rolling (instead of character models being one unit in size), the ability to move to different checkpoints on the map as well as new checkpoints at the beginning of a map, and several reward updates that increase rare item drop chance from rare monsters and currency drops from things like rare monsters and disenchanting, though GGG admits to being nervous about increasing rewards too much because it’s “very hard” to reduce them.
Some of the more granular updates planned in the OARPG include better rewards for using difficult map mods, a fix for click-to-move control, and more rare monsters in endgame maps. Some of the updates listed by the studio have already made it into a recent hotfix, so players who feel like things weren’t too rewarding may want to read through.
Unfortunately it’s not all buffs and improvements to POE 2: A combination of skills was deemed too powerful by GGG, and so it’s gotten the nerf treatment. As you can expect, this decision hasn’t been met too kindly by players, but it went through regardless of the complaints; ideally the other updates being made will ease the early access pain.
Lastly, there’s a helpful little filter created by livestreamer NeverSink that makes it easier to see useful loot, so if you’re being forced to be selective about what goodies eventually tumble out of a monster’s head, there’s information and download links in the Reddit post above.
