With Path of Exile 2 still being in early access, it should be expected that there are going to be a lot of bugs and just generally broken stuff in it. One thing that is puzzling a lot of people right now is the Tinker’s Tools quest item, which the majority of players reportedly struggling to find them. Well, we have some answers for you, so let us talk about it.
Where to Find the Tinker’s Tools
To save you some time, the developers have confirmed that it is currently bugged. The Tinker’s Tools are supposed to be dropping from enemies within the Mawdun Quarry zone. However, for some reason, most players just seem to never be able to find one.
Specifically, they are supposed to come from the miner mobs within the area. So basically, you just need to be killing them over and over again until you manage to get the tools to drop.
If you think that it is because the drop rate is exceedingly small, well, that is just not the case. A few people have claimed to have gotten it after a few tries, but we only recommend giving it a couple of attempts as it will drive you crazy otherwise.
One thing you can try is to reset the Mawdun Quarry instance repeatedly. Doing this will respawn the miners and give you another opportunity to hopefully get the tools to drop. However, you might burn yourself out if you try brute forcing it in one sitting.
Our advice for now is to simply wait for the bug to be fixed. The developers are already aware of it, and this is exactly why the game is in early access, so you will just have to be patient. There is a chest that can supposedly drop it too, but there is very little information corroborating this.
