Christmas is coming back to Final Fantasy XIV, as Square Enix revealed the dates and Santa Chocobo barding reward for the recurring FFXIV Starlight Celebration 2024 event. This year, the event runs between December 16-31, 2024.
The requirements to take part in the Starlight Celebration are the same as usual, so pretty much everyone can easily take part. You need to be at level 15. If you are, then head to Old Gridania once the event kicks off. You want to meet with Amh Garanjy at X:10.2, Y:9.4. The Miquote will be rather visible. Talking to her will kick off the “Reach for the Stalls” quest that lets you earn the Santa Chocobo barding, furnishings, and new Orchestrion Roll.
While the FFXIV Starlight Celebration Chocobo barding does make the bird look like Santa, it’s actually called the Starlight Stalls Barding. It adds a red and white hat and cloak to your mount, with a bell with holly on it. There’s also a basket with red berries and other festive items hanging around the Chocobo’s neck, as well as a barrel on the back with a cup attached.

As usual, past Starlight Celebration items will appear in the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store or at vendors in-game. This will be how you could pick up items like the 2023 Unorthodox Saint’s Santa Armor or 2022 Starlight Steed mount.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the FFXIV Starlight Celebration runs over Christmas between December 16-31, 2024.
